Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
1 Corinthians 14:26 NKJV
"How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification."
A care group is an opportunity for a more personal level of discipleship and fellowship. At Discover Church we recommend that every Christian has more than one point of contact per week. The weekend service is the main point of contact for all Christians. Care groups provide another point of contact usually in a Christian home (but also on campus). In a smaller environment you can share personal stories, prayer requests, Biblical questions, not to mention good food!
A care group is where people get to know you and you get to know God's will on a personal level. When you join our care group, you will be connected to friends who are making disciples and praying for one another even in the tough times of life.
To be part of our care groups, call +61 452 583 580 or email care@discover.org.au
What if I want to start a care group? It's easy for a church member to start a care group as we have excellent video curriculums which you can run. You don't need to be a Bible teacher in order to have effective care groups. Some of our curriculums include Ray Comfort's school of evangelism, Creation Ministries videos, Pastor Steve's 4000 Years of History, End Times, Discipleship, etc. We even have Alpha in Thai. All you need are a love for people and a video player. We can get you started by first shadowing (or following) a current care group host.
To shadow a care group host (and learn to become one yourself), call +61 452 583 580 or email info@discover.org.au
