When Jesus gave His Great Commission (or last commandments), He mentioned water baptism: "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved…" (Mark 16:15-16) Water Baptism is a public declaration of our identification with Jesus; His death, burial and resurrection. By being water baptized you are publicly saying that you have died to yourself and have decided to follow Jesus Christ.
You may have been baptized as an infant by the choice of your parents, or baptized by sprinkling as a part of church tradition. We believe the New Testament allows you to be baptized again by faith and by your own choice. We follow the model of Jesus, John the Baptist, Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch in practicing baptism by full immersion.
